Below listed patches will fail if you do not upgrade Opatch to 13.9.4.0.0

Upgrade Opatch:
Oracle Document “How To Download And Install The Latest OPatch(6880880) Version (Doc ID 274526.1)” talks about how to install or upgrade OPatch with Patch 6880880!
However, you will not see straight instructions about which patch to download to upgrade Opatch when you have Weblogic and/or Middleware Products(SOA, ADF, etc…,)
The patch we need to upgrade Opatch is – “Patch 28186730: PLACEHOLDER BUG FOR WLS 12C OPATCH UPLOAD”
Upgrade Instructions:

- Download Patch 28186730
- Unzip Patch 28186730
- You will see 6880880 directory
- Set JAVA_HOME
- $ export JAVA_HOME=/local/mnt/oracle/products/jdk
- $ export PATH=/local/mnt/oracle/products/jdk/bin:${PATH}
- Set ORACLE_HOME to the directory where you have installed your fusion middleware directory
- $ export ORACLE_HOME=/local/mnt/oracle/products/fmw
- Include OPatch to PATH
- $ export PATH=/local/mnt/oracle/products/fmw/OPatch:${PATH}
- Check Opatch Version
- $ opatch version
- Upgrade Opatch
- Syntax: java -jar <PATCH_HOME>/6880880/opatch_generic.jar -silent oracle_home=<ORACLE_HOME_LOCATION>
- Example: java -jar /local/mnt/oracle/6880880/opatch_generic.jar -silent oracle_home=/local/mnt/oracle/products/fmw/
- Check Opatch Version
- $ opatch version
